Is there a dress code at The Cavendish Hotel?

There is no dress code for dining at The Cavendish Hotel in Baslow.

How accessible is The Cavendish Hotel?

We have two accessible rooms on the ground floor that feature wider doorways, more space and accessible bathroom suites. The hotel also has ground floor access via the outdoor ramp to the reception areas and restaurants, as well as accessible toilets.

What are the check in and check out times?

You can check into your room from 4pm, and check out is at 11am. We always try to fulfil special requests made at the time of booking, however no guarantees can be made.

Where can I dine at The Cavendish Hotel?

Showcasing local fresh ingredients our 3AA Rosette Gallery Restaurant and Garden Room menu is available for Lunch and Afternoon Tea 12.30pm until 4.30pm, there is no afternoon tea service on a Sunday, and for Dinner in the evening 6.00pm until 9pm.

Our Head Chef Joe Bains and Restaurant Manager Adam Yeomans are pleased to discuss any special requirements. 

Do you accommodate children?

Children are welcome to stay and several of our larger rooms can accommodate them as additional guests in either a cot or a folded bed. There is a charge of £10 per night for children up to the age of 13, including either a cot or folded bed, which must be requested at the time of booking. Breakfast is an additional £10 and all other meals are chargeable as taken.

How dog friendly are you?

A warm welcome awaits our guests and the four-legged kind. At our hotel dogs and their owners will enjoy, with equal anticipation, access to acres of off-road walks directly from the hotel, with beautiful vistas of the Peaks, woods and riverside – to be explored together. Practical assistance is also on hand, for example spare bowls, leads and waste bags, as well as thoughtfully placed bins for you to keep our beautifully maintained grounds just as you found them.

We have three dog friendly rooms in our Spacious Coach House category, dogs who are staying with us are allowed in the Garden Room and on the Terrace, however unfortunately they will not be allowed anywhere else in the hotel.

Non-resident dogs are allowed on our Terrace only.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at The Cavendish Hotel?

There are two electric vehicle charging points at the back of the hotel situated next to the coach house, they are first come first served basis. Once your vehicle is charged please move it to allow other hotel guests to use the facility.

What time is breakfast?

Breakfast is served in our Gallery Restaurant between 7.30am and 12noon.

Does The Cavendish Hotel offer room service?

A limited Room Service menu is available, should you prefer, during restaurant hours; outside of these hours a Room Service menu can be enjoyed.

Is there a dress code in The Gallery Restaurant?

There are no restrictions or dress codes.

Can you fish on the River Derwent?

The Chatsworth fishery is members only, but as a guest of the hotel we can give you exclusive access to fish with the spectacular backdrop of Chatsworth House. Please contact our team on reception@cavendishbaslow.co.uk or 01246 582311 for details.

Can I use the Chatsworth Health & Fitness Club?

We offer all guests access to our health and fitness club at Chatsworth. We have a wide range of treatments, classes and great facilities, including a 15m swimming pool and fully equipped gym.

How long does it take to walk to Chatsworth?

It takes approximately 20 minutes (1.5 miles) to walk to Chatsworth House through the parkland. A map can be found in the walking booklet in your room.
