Imaginary Conversations: An Erdem Collection inspired by Duchess Deborah

Designer Erdem Moralıoğlu’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection takes inspiration from Duchess Deborah and Erdem’s work with the Chatsworth textiles team in the Devonshire Collections archives. The collection references and reinterprets historic patterned textiles, as well as the shapes, silhouettes and styles that Deborah Cavendish wore.

Imaginary Conversations gives us an insight into Erdem’s creative process, from the initial thrill of discovery in the Chatsworth archives, to the artistry of designing new clothes. Set within the guest bedrooms, the exhibition brings together historic prints and drawings, textiles, jewellery and photographs. The eclectic taste, spirit and vision of Deborah, the late Dowager Duchess, is woven throughout.
