The serene surroundings of Chatsworth create the perfect atmosphere for a truly memorable afternoon tea. We welcome guests for birthdays, anniversaries and Mother’s Day celebrations every year, but you don’t always need a special reason to treat yourself—sometimes the best plans are the spontaneous ones.
Traditional is best
At The Cavendish, our afternoon tea is luxurious but beautifully simple. We focus on quality ingredients, friendly service and elegant presentation.
Our pastry chef makes fresh cakes and buttermilk scones every day. And of course, there’s local clotted cream and handmade jam from Chatsworth Farm Shop to go with them.
There’s always a choice of fresh finger sandwiches with classic fillings like smoked salmon and free range egg mayonnaise. And other savoury treats too, like black pudding and apple sausage rolls, depending on what’s fresh from the kitchen that day.
Make a toast
Our afternoon tea includes quality loose leaf tea, handmade barista coffee or a fresh cafetiere.
If you’re toasting a special occasion, you can add a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne for £16.50. If you’d prefer something else, like an ice cold gin and tonic, we’ll make one for you.

We serve afternoon tea from Monday to Saturday, 12.30pm to 5pm.
The price is £37.50 per person with your choice of tea or coffee. Champagne Afternoon Tea is £52.75.
