Pride & Prejudice Afternoon Tea
A short walk from Chatsworth, the cinematic home of Pemberley, step into the world of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice for afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel.
Our menu includes beef from Chatsworth and homemade fruit and plain scones, the heart of any country house gathering.
For tea, our Large Leaf English Breakfast Blend reflects the black teas served in English homes from the early 1800s, the kind of warm brew that might have been poured after returning from a stroll across Pemberley’s lakes and lawns.

The serene surroundings of Chatsworth create the perfect atmosphere for a truly memorable afternoon tea. We welcome guests for birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations every year, but you don’t always need a special reason to treat yourself—sometimes the best plans are the spontaneous ones.
Make a toast
If you’re toasting a special occasion, you can add a glass of Delamotte Champagne for £13.90. If you’d prefer something else, like an ice cold gin and tonic, we’ll make one for you.

At The Cavendish, our afternoon tea is luxurious but beautifully simple. We focus on quality ingredients, friendly service and elegant presentation.
Our pastry chef makes fresh cakes and buttermilk scones every day. And of course, there’s local clotted cream and handmade jam from Chatsworth Farm Shop to go with them.
There’s always a choice of fresh finger sandwiches with classic fillings like smoked salmon and free range egg mayonnaise. And other savoury treats too, like black pudding and apple sausage rolls, depending on what’s fresh from the kitchen that day.
Our afternoon tea includes quality loose leaf tea, handmade barista coffee or a fresh cafetiere.

The price is £43.50 per person with your choice of tea or coffee. Champagne Afternoon Tea is £56.40.
